Warm River Studio
Several year ago, photographer Ellen Lynch, sublet a gallery space for three months. After she had her first show hung, she realized she loved the gallery, its small town setting, and she wanted to share the space. Friends loaned a piano, and every weekend, the gallery hosted classical, jazz and bluegrass concerts, readings, lectures and performances. The entire town came together for these events, with the bookstore selling books and interviewing authors, the wine store bringing special wines, and artists coming in off the street as word spread. Everyone was very sad when it came to its natural end, and still talk about those special offerings.
When Ellen saw the building on Main Street in Ashton last fall, with its beautiful woodwork and large windows, her heart leapt. This was going to be her second chance at cultivating creativity and community. The space is offered to all creatives—to share their work, practice their craft, and bring the arts to this charming small town. And it is again her desire, to bring the town together to celebrate the arts.
The main gallery space offers 900 square feet with 12’ ceilings (excellent acoustics), and an additional 300 square feet in an adjacent room. There is also a kitchen and restroom facilities to support events. Oh, and there is a sweet 1929 Chickering baby grand piano.
